LEADing the way DOWN SOUTH

To start the night Bec Nourse who is an Adminstrative Assistant at Community Partnerships @ Work engaged the audience with her inspiring story which focused on the challenges that she has faced, how she got to where she is today, the mentors and people whao have inspired her and most importantly knowing where to seek help.
Judith Leeson AM Contact Manager Partnership Broker Program (DEEWR) instilled her wealth of knowledge describing to the audience that there are a number of key factors when engaging with the youth of today, some being:
- Family support is very importnat
- Encourage young people to learn
- Respecting young people's views and opinions.
Dr Phil Daughtry, Head of Social Sciences, Tabor Aelaide shared with the Audience that there have been many young people that have crossed his path who have shown outstanding courage and maturity, who went on to inspire him when communicating with youth throughout his work.
Anne Bainbridge highlighted during the forum that there are a number of barriers involved when working with the younger generation, these included:
-Individual
-Organisational
-Societal
The audience was provided with the oppourtunity to ask questions of the speakers which prmted a series of interesting debate.
